Sharing the Love with Farmer Foodshare

Farmer Foodshare Cary Downtown Farmers Market

To fight hunger and reduce waste, Cary Downtown Farmers Market serves as a “Donation Station” for the Farmer Foodshare Program.  As a donation station, shoppers and farmers can donate produce to local folks in need!

We partner with the outstanding Dorcas Ministries to make a quick impact on local individuals.  Every Saturday after the market closes, Dorcas volunteers visit Cary Downtown Farmers market to pick up food for the local residents they serve (our shoppers and farmers are so generous this often requires multiple trips!).

In addition to providing a food pantry for Cary and Morrisville residents, Dorcas Ministries offers cooking classes to help their clients make the most of the delicious, nutritious food they receive.

How to Help Farmer FoodShare

  • Purchase produce from our vendors and donate it to our Foodshare table
  • Donate cash to our Foodshare table so we can buy produce for Dorcas Ministries
  • Vendors can donate product that might otherwise be composted before their next market visit

We hope you’ll visit our Farmer Foodshare table at your next visit!
