Game On! Game Day Food Idea

Game Day -Tailgating Food Idea
Pulled Pork

Tender, juicy, delicious, versatile pulled pork is a great option to feed a crowd.
The food is just as important as the game itself!

Stop by Parker Farm and Vineyard this weekend to pick up
your fresh local meat and produce for the game or any occasion!

General Cooking Ideas-

Slow Cooker:

Pork shoulder roasts (fat side up, seasoned with salt and pepper)in the crockpot on low for 6-8 hours. Shred with a fork and top with your favorite barbecue sauce.

Leftover ideas:

This shredded roast leftover (without the sauce) can also make great pork carnitas. Just take the shredded meat (run through the fat and juices) and place on a baking sheet. Broil (keep a close eye on it) for 2-4 minutes, just until the meat is getting slightly crispy on the edges. This is delicious in tacos, sandwiches or even on a taco or garden salad.

Thank you to Parker Farm and Vineyard for the slow cooker and left over ideas!

Oven:

The link below is a suggestion for a full flavored fall off the bone tender oven roasted recipe. A little planning will be involved as this recipe suggests brining the pork a minimum of 12 hours prior to roasting.
